April Fucking Fools

If you couldn't already tell, we were doing an April Fool's theme this week. We were obviously not as into it as we were last year, due to a combination of business and laziness. Last year's theme was crazy old timey-ness, I think this year's was cunt-heads.

Anyway, I put up a few theme-related random quotes, which I'll be removing from the random quote generator:

"Jesus was the first socialist, the first to seek a better life for mankind." -- Mikhail Gorbachev";
"Socialism is the flame of anger against injustice and the flame of hope that you can build a better world." -- Tony Benn";
"I have no country to fight for; my country is the earth; I am a citizen of the world." -- Eugene V. Debs";
"We need to decide that we will not go to war, whatever reason is conjured up by the politicians or the media, because war in our time is always indiscriminate, a war against innocents, a war against children. War is terrorism, magnified a hundred times." -- Howard Zinn";
"Nothing can justify crimes such as those of September 11, but we can think of the United States as an "innocent victim" only if we adopt the convenient path of ignoring the record of its actions and those of its allies, which are, after all, hardly a secret." -- Noam Chomsky";
"We declared war on terror—it’s not even a noun, so, good luck. After we defeat it, I’m sure we’ll take on that bastard ennui." -- Jon Stewart" (Actually, it is. -- MA);
"There can be no peace in the Middle East until the injustices committed by the Israeli government against Palestinians cease Rather than go to war against Iraq, the United States should examine its support of Israel and by extension that country's considerable human rights violations." -- Edward Said";
"The revolution lives on not in words to live for it, but in one's heart to die for it." -- Che Guevara";
"Should such an ignorant people lead the world? How did it come to this in the first place? 82 percent of us don't even have a passport! Just a handful can speak a language other than English (and we don't even speak that very well.)" -- Michael Moore";

Go back and read last year's, it was more fun (the link is earlier in this post). I thought Murel had some good posts, but we just didn't post enough to build up the atmosphere.
